This weekend we went for our annual trip to Pontins for two nights of 80s and 90s. We ended up going with Jade and Aisha who although they’re both 18, as you would expect, spending time with me means that they’re both fans of 80s music !!
First up on the Friday night was “The Boy George Experience” which lived up to its name – he looked and sounded just like George did around 1985.

This was followed by the boys from “Re-Take That” who we had met up with in 2011. As expected they were a big sucess especially with the ladies !!

Finally we had the main headliner……American soul singer Alexander O’Neal who I’d been quite looking forward to. However due to technical problems, he did all the minor album tracks leading up to the two big hits….which then jumped on the backing CD so we managed about 45 seconds of Criticize and Fake before he walked off stage.

Saturday dawned wet and windy and so we left Jade and Aisha in bed and went for breakfast before going and waking the girls up for scrambled eggs and a walk around Southport town.
By 8 it was back into the main hall where “Ultimate Erasure” warmed the crowd up ready for the two main events of the weekend – Bucks Fizz and Chesney Hawkes.

A great night was had by all especially Jade who had decided that she’s marrying Chesney
